- Comments from HNDR Training Participants:
- “I love the paradigm flip. I can’t solve parenting problems. I can share another way to look at parenting issues and that is through protective factors and developing resiliency in children. You have empowered me to do what I love with highly effective tools. I so appreciate this opportunity.”
-
- “I was/am so impressed with the curriculum and the presenters’ excellent facilitation skills. I’m extremely critical about trainings, and this is one of the best I’ve attended. I’m leaving with increased skills and knowledge and a program that is designed to be easy to use and implement. Thank you very much.”
Here, Now and Down the Road Training
Hands-On Training for Parent Educators
Parent educators appreciate the hands-on
nature of the training.
Training is provided by Wingspan, the developer and national distributor of Here, Now and Down the Road. The two-day training is required for all parent educators who will deliver the program. Due to the interactive, experiential nature of the curriculum, it is recommended that two parent educators receive training to co-facilitate Here, Now and Down the Road.
The training combines curriculum information with opportunities to explore the modules and practice delivery techniques. Parent educators appreciate the hands-on nature of the training.
Training topics for parent educators include:
- Curriculum goals, framework and adult learning approaches
- Exploration of resilience,
risk and protective factors research and the application of these concepts to daily family life
- Parenting strategies that promote the positive social and emotional development of young children
- The effective use of experiential learning approaches to advance participant learning
- How to manage difficult participants or situations, and transform these challenges into learning opportunities
